As I sit here going through pictures on Wildlife Women’s facebook page, downloading blogs off of our website. I come to realize how much this organization has grown. This group started out with around 50 ladies messaging Bridgette Holbrook, Founder and President, about a post she put on facebook asking if any lady out there wanted to learn how to become a better hunter? To now with over 600 members that has joined on facebook wanting to join in on our seminars and events. I remember the first event I attended. It was a pistol and trap shoot at Carr Creek Fish and Game Club. All the ladies there had such a great time and learned so much about safety and how to shoot pistols and trap with shotguns. I was so excited about that event that I couldn’t wait to go to the next one. Then the next event came up. A bow shooting seminar. I was nervous, but still excited. I had never shot a compound bow in my life. I wanted to attend this but with no bow, I wasn’t sure how this would work out for me. It was made sure with this event that if you didn’t have a bow, don’t worry. A local sporting goods store was asked to bring a few bows for our event and they agreed to come. I showed up and a bow was picked for me and I learned how to shoot a compound bow. I was hooked!! It was then that I realized what a great idea Bridgette Holbrook had and what she was wanting to make happen for all us ladies. From that moment on, I stood behind her and helped as much as I could. I knew how I felt being around other ladies and learning things in the outdoors. I was comfortable and it was a kind of therapy that I had never had before. I knew that now I had to help to get more women involved and give to them what Wildlife Women was giving to me. Our organization started growing and it keeps growing. All us ladies will do a group face time and talk and have such laughs among ourselves. As you can see in two of the above pictures we love to use the filters and make faces. It’s like we are kids again and can be fun with each other because we all share the same passions. Sometimes Erin has to photo shot screens with directions for some of us ladies who may not be too tech savy. What fun that is! But as I sit in the chair revamping our website, I have come to realize a few things. We all have different backgrounds. We all have different ways to do things. We all are different ages. We all have our different problems or fears. But in the end, we all have the same passions. And those passions is what makes us who we are. Those passions is what makes Wildlife Women such a great organization. Those passions is what we are today! We Educate, Inspire, and Encourage women to get into the outdoors and enjoy it. WE ARE WILDLIFE WOMEN!!
